Bryson DeChambeau posts picture in Dallas, while still playing a tournament in Charlotte—wait, what?

CHARLOTTE — Environmentalists, turn away.

Jokes aside, we’re going to give Bryson DeChambeau the benefit of the doubt here. When he finished his second-round 74 at the Wells Fargo Championship on Friday, he sat two over for the tournament. At the time—and again, we’re just hypothesizing here—he likely thought he was definitely going to miss the cut. So, as top-10 players in the world do, he fired up his private jet and headed home for Dallas.

Only one problem: He made the cut.

The wind at Quail Hollow picked up considerably on Friday afternoon, and the cut line slipped all the way back to two over. So DeChambeau now found himself in Dallas, needing to get back to Charlotte for an 8:10 a.m. tee time on Saturday.

Around 7 p.m., the 27-year-old posted an Instagram story showing him in a gym with the caption, “Headed back to Dallas to get a quick workout in.. see ya tomorrow Charlotte.” We’re going to assume he was joking, seeing as Charlotte is a major metropolitan area with plenty of gyms open for business.

The thing is, the flight from Charlotte to Dallas really isn’t that close—about two and a half hours, according to the Google machine. So DeChambeau’s going to spend roughly five hours of his afternoon flying back and forth to Texas.

Oh, the life of a PGA Tour player.
